Today on December 4 2008, a delegation lead by Mr. Mingmar Sherpa, Vice President of the NPRCA and Coordinator of the Nepal Festival 2008 Organizing Committee visited to the UN headquarters and extended an invitation to the United Nations Secretary-General BanKi-moon. During the meeting, Mr. Sherpa briefed about the forthcoming Nepal festival in Manhattan, New York city from December 20 to 23 2008.His team also distributed brochures of festivals to more than 500 UN dignitaries.
Earlier, Mr Sherpa also met Ms. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives in the UN complex and extended an invitation of the festival.

Nepal Festival USA- 2008 Committee
NPRCA and Ad & Event Management Nepal Pvt. Ltd. have signed a contract to organize ‘Nepal Festival 2008’ in New York City, which is scheduled on December 20-23 2008. The festival will provide an opportunity for the Nepali products as well as other businesses and tourism promotion activities. In order to accomplish the event, a central level management committee is formed under the coordination of Vice President Mingmar Sherpa. We expect full cooperation from all members and well- wishers to accomplish this event.

Press Conference was held about Nepal Festival USA - 2008
A press conference was held on Sunday October 26, 2008 at Kathmandu. Mr. Yamanath Sapkota, Chairman of Ad & Event Management Nepal Pvt. Ltd, and Mr. Mahendra Wagle, representative of Nepali Public Relations Committee America (USA) highlighted details about Nepal Festival USA – 2008. Nearly 60 journalists were presented at the occasion. As it is going to held first time in America,which will be historical Grand Exhibition of Nepalese Industry, Tourism, Culture, Handicrafts & Natural Products. The program will be conducted on December 20- 23, 2008, Manhattan,New York expecting More than 50,000 visitorsin festival.
The program is supposed to boost the relationship between the two countries and let know about the culture, tradition, art, craft and many aspects of Nepal and Nepalese people. The festival is supposed to create interest in visiting Nepal and may facilitate the ‘Destination Nepal year 20011’.
